Hungry Escapade at Ling Nam

Me and Francis just loves to eat. 😛 He works in a BPO which requires him to report for work on a graveyard shift. With this, there are times that he wants a dinner that’s really good as before going to work. We’ve been getting used to the restaurants in Banawe area. Which brings us closer to our favorite Chinese restaurant – Ling Nam. We have tried their branches in Greenhills and in Binondo, so we are really confident that this one in Banawe is as good as the other branches.

The place is really easy to find. Its actually across Serenitea and Posh Nails. 😀 I’m sure most of you are familiar with this. When we entered the restaurant, the place was packed with Chinese people, of course! Haha! We didn’t care. We got ourselves a table and started ordering for our tummies.

These are all amazing!!

Expenses: Food + bottomless iced tea + mango juice (in can) + VAT = Php860.00

My own rating:

Xin Wang’s Kaya Toast

We have been a fan of Xin Wang Restaurant in SM Mall of Asia. From the first time we tried it, we already came back thrice already, I think. Only because we love their menu!! But aside from their heavy meals, their Kaya Toast really caught our taste buds. And my husband also love it, mind you. Being him as a grumpy – as I call him on my other posts 😉 Whenever we are in the area, he always wanted to go there and have a “merienda” with the Kaya Toast.

Kaya toast is a popular snack amongst Singaporean and Malaysians. It has coconut jam, a pread of eggs, sugar and coconut milk and flavored with pandan on toasted or fresh bread or cream crackers. Butter or margarine may be spread as well – Wikipedia.

This one from Xin Wang has coconut jam and butter only (I think). We love it because it’s not too sweet and even if it’s full of butter, its not greasy. And even we took one of this home, the butter didn’t melt!! Amazing! The combination of the coconut jam and the butter is just perfect for its toasted bread.

We even brought them and have them as a snack while watching the Pyro Olympics competition. 😀

This is perfect whenever we just want to rest and sit while having a good-light meal and just listen to each other’s stories.

Verdict: 4 thumbs up!!

Tom Rodriguez, Myx Music VJ Joyce Pring and Chicken Deli Join UST’s ‘Gratiae CTHM Awards Night’

The University of Santo Tomas (UST) College of Tourism and Hospitality Management (CTHM) recently staged “Gratie CTHM Awards Night” held at the Plaza Mayor in celebration of the achievements of the college and its students.

It was a night of raising glasses to deserving students who excelled in various inter-collegiate competitions like beauty pageants, mixing cocktail and outstanding tourism and hospitality achievement awards. In support of the deserving students, Chicken Deli restaurant, a Bacolod original since 1983 joined in the celebration as one of its major sponsors with a booth offering their best sellers – their yummy Pechopak, sumptuous Paa and savory Liempo!

The night was livened up by an exciting segment of the restaurant hosted by energetic Myx VJ Joyce Pring who engaged the faculty, students and guests. Though formally dressed, they gamely joined the “Longest Breath“contest and a lot more. Joyce gave Chicken Deli gift certificates to the winners.

Handsome Tom Rodriguez took the stage to serenade some pretty college ladies with the song “When You Say nothing at All “and “Fly Me to the Moon” that gave a feel of romance to the event.

Tom can be seen daily in his teleserye “Angelito” on ABS-CBN while VJ Joyce hosts daily on Myx, the number one music channel.
