Morning Mercato Centrale Re-Opened at its Original Location in Bonifacio Global City

The famous and favorite morning food and organic market has made a comeback at its original location inside Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig.  The organizers of the successful Midnight Mercato Centrale recently opened Morning Mercato Centrale beside Serendra and Bonifacio Hight Street (corner of 30th street and 9th avenue) every Saturday and Sunday (7am-2pm).

“We are very grateful to BGC management for allowing us to return to the location where Mercato Centrale all began!” shared Anton Diaz, co-founder of Mercato Centrale and the man behind the popular food and travel blog “This will give us a better opportunity to serve the BGC residential community and the surrounding Makati and Taguig villages.”

Originally inspired by the outdoor markets of Mercato Centrale in Florence and the Farmers Market in San Francisco, Morning Mercato Centrale is an innovative weekend lifestyle market with a wide array of certified organic and all-natural fruits, vegetables and meat products, natural home, bath and beauty products, locally-made arts and crafts and – of course – unique food finds from home-based cooks, chefs and food entrepreneurs!

“We’re honored that Morning Mercato has become the first home of many popular food entrepreneurs who have since become extremely successful on their own!” added co-founder and entrepreneurial advocate RJ Ledesma. He counts Mochiko, Merry Moo, Kristina’s Inutak, ManilaQ’s Bagwang, Angus Beef Tapa Lady, Big Bob’s Charcaol grilled burgers as just some of the many success stories that have come out of Morning Mercato Centrale. “We’ve got a great selection food entrepreneurs in the morning market, which include My Pink Wasabi’s dessert sushi, Hey Gourmet Ensaymadas, Mama Ivonne’s Kakanin, LowCal Café healthy desserts, Misispi’s oatmeal cookies, Cocina Verde’s gourmet spreads & Simply Pie’s specialty quiches.

“Aside from the great food choices in Morning Mercato, we’re also proud of our extensive selection of certified organic and all-natural produce and meats in the market.” said co-founder Vanessa Pastor-Ledesma.  “We’ve worked with trusted names from the Organic Producers Trade Association (OPTA) like Costales Nature Farms and Pamora Free-Range Chicken Farms to provide us with great, fresh finds for health-conscious marketogoers.” Other organic vendors are Food Bowl Market, Herbana Farms, Gawad Kalinga, Ifugao Heirloom Rice, Azchia-Chiabia among others.

“We also proudly offer locally-produced organic and natural home, bath, beauty products like Human Nature, Milea, Leyende, Messsy Bessy and many more.” added co-founder  Rache Diaz.

The re-opening also highlighted the Brown Rice campaign launch and lunch by Dakila – Philippines Collective for Modern Heroism, a group of artists, students and individuals committed to advocating social consciousness formation through the creative arts and Oxfam- an international non-profit organization that works with others to end poverty and human suffering. This campaign aims to bring back brown or “unpolished” rice back to the regular diet of Filipinos and help our local farmers as well.  The launch featured an organic brown rice exhibit, photo booth, free nutrition consultation and musical performances.
