Ben’s Kitchen at Harbor Point in Subic

A staycation without planning took place last February with me and my Grumpy. It was his birthday month, that’s why. And since I just started with my new job, I can’t take long vacations yet. So we just grabbed those weekends and decided to be on the road and we ended up in Subic.

Aside from a quick getaway, we also wanted to visit duty-free shops in the area. Haha! Talking about expenses, yeah? 🙂

On the way to our hotel, we already noticed Harbor Point Mall. So it was still early when we arrived in Subic. So we first checked-in our hotel, rest while waiting for the malls to open, then we decided to have our lunch.

There were very few restaurants, actually. Some we were also able to try already here in Manila, so we we’re kinda looking for a new place to try.

We ended up in Ben’s Kitchen.

Ben’s Kitchen is by Xtremely Xpresso Cafe. A casual bistro style restaurant that serves European style breakfast, lunch and dinner. The cafe is known to serve Italy’s no. 1 coffee, Lavazza, and is famous for its unique collection of Italian menu

This place really caught our attention by its relaxing-looking ambiance. Surrounded by light color blue and it really looked spacious. There also really nice collectible items being displayed all over the place which we clearly saw even outside.

I was enjoying the place and was busy taking photos everywhere while waiting for our orders. There were very few customers when we arrived, we were welcomed by their staff the moment we entered the door. Handed their menu and happily offered to us their best sellers. 🙂

They gave us a bowl full of popcorn while our food were being prepared. 🙂 I still can’t get enough of taking photos of the place.

And finally, our food was served. 🙂 Here’s what we got:

Macaroni and Cheese – this is just the traditional mac ‘n cheese that we know. What’s nice about this is it come’s a big bowl which is actually for 2-3 persons.

Coca-Cola Roast Pork – Thin slices of pork belly which are marinated by Coke. Can you believe that?! I was really excited for this. And it didn’t disappoint me. This one’s suuuper good!

Ben’s Kitchen have their cakes and other pastries too, but we’re too full to try them.

Our lunch in Ben’s Kitchen celebrating my grumpy’s birthday was simple. But the food were just awesome! I can’t wait ’til our next visit in Subic and we’ll make sure visit Ben’s Kitchen again. 🙂 (oh, by the way, I hope they’d have a branch also here in Manila). Haha!

The interior is like Cafe 1771, my previous workplace. and yeah, that kind of ambience is so inviting.. so inviting to slouch and to spend time the whole afternoon. hehe

This seems like a nice place, I want to try the coca-cola roast pork and the ribs. Will add this on my long, long list of go-to’s.
