The first time I visited Katsu Cafe, me and my fellow-friend foodie had a really great time. We enjoyed the food and the place itself. After several months, Katsu Cafe was so successful that they opened another branch. This time in Banawe, Quezon City – a lot accessible to me. Haha! And few weeks back, I received an invitation to do a food and restaurant review in their newest branch. I’m excited and I got my Grumpy with me this time.
It was dinner time and we just finished our daily Sunday mass routine when suddenly, we just decided to go and finally try our invitation. I’m a bit excited because I am expecting to have a very good experience again, just like my first time. When we arrived, there weren’t a lot of customers yet. I noticed immediately that the place is much larger, more spacious than their branch in Katipunan. Though, they have a bit of resemblance in terms of the tables and chairs, the lights used, the walls and their awesome display of beverages.
As soon as we entered the place, a waiter approached us and accompanied us to a vacant table, handed their menu and then patiently waited for our orders. The menu’s so familiar to me. It is exactly the same as what they got in their Katipunan branch.
While waiting for our orders, I got my camera out and I just can’t stop taking pictures. I realized, I am falling in love with this place. Hmm…
And then after few minutes, our food were on our table. All looks soo yummy. I was also a bit nervous that my Grumpy won’t be able to appreciate the food and the taste. But when I saw him enjoying his food, it was a relief to me. He’s very picky when it comes to food. So, I’m happy that he liked it.
Jumbo Japanese Tempura (3pcs) : Everyone’s favorite jumbo prawns in light Japanese tempura batter fried to perfection. Paired with their special tempura sauce along with unlimited Japanese rice! It is also served with miso soup.
Pork Katsu Set : Meat cutlets battered with special Japanese breading deep-fried to golden perfection. Paired with Katsu Cafe’s very own creation of Tonkatsu sauce and sesame seeds. Served with miso soup and again, unlimited Japanese rice!
Beef Curry Rice
Overall, again, I had a very good experience with Katsu Cafe. Good service. Waiters were attentive, gave us really good recommendations. Food came out quickly. Large portions. Unlimited rice. Affordable prices.
I truly enjoyed coming here. I love the way the dining area was setup and wood tables are super cool. I can’t wait for our next visit!
Special features:
Fit for foodies. Good for groups. Neighborhood gem. Kid-friendly.

I wish they could get it on malls too, like SM MOA, BHS, and Greenbelt/Glorietta. I have a feeling i’m gonna love Katsu Cafe as much as i did YABU. 🙂

Pork Katsu looks delicious and I love the rice with black sesame seeds! But I think I can’t make a visit to this place since whenever I’m in Manila, we can only visit the southern part which is Makati, Taguig and so forth.

I don’t dig Japanese foods but the Beef curry Rice is so tempting. The price seems okay too.

What I like most is the Tempura so I will definitely try the Jumbo one but it’s quite distant from our place. I hope they will open some branches in Ortigas area.

It was nice to know that you had a great time at Katsu Cafe… the quality of the food and service are the best criteria in judging a resto. Unfortunately, walang ganyan sa area namin .. hope someday ma try ko rin yan 🙂

Looks like a promising Japanese restaurant, just a little bit skeptical about the size of the tables. Isn’t it a little too small?
