Fisher Mall : The New Home of Fun and Fashion in Quezon City

There’s a new mall in town—one where fashion is not just a statement but a lifestyle; where trends are not just followed but set; a place where a fun time is not promised, but expected. In more ways than one, this mall is not just a mall, it is a truly exciting destination.

This is Fisher Mall, a five-storey shopping destination in Quezon City that is on a league of its own. Far from the usual retail establishments, Fisher Mall takes inspiration from some of the world’s most beautiful malls and brings them together for Filipinos to enjoy.

Set to open in the last Quarter of 2013, Fisher Mall is bound to be the most lifestyle and    fashion-oriented mall in the country.

“We are investing heavily in Filipino fashion. Fisher Mall will be a venue for fashionistas—of all shapes and sizes—to mingle. There will be a fashion ramp where runway shows will be held on a regular basis,” said Moleen Del Rosario, President of  Clothers Asia.

The Filipinos’ love for malls has given birth to some of the world’s best and biggest ones. Gone are the days when malls are synonymous to box-type establishments that tend to lack personality, charm, and warmth. Today, people look for a different kind of experience when they go to malls—and different, only in a good way, is what they’re going to get with Fisher Mall.

At a time when Filipinos are becoming more experimental and trendy when it comes to showing their personalities through fashion, style-conscious people will have a field day once the mall opens as brands from the UK, Australia, US, Korea, and Europe—many of which will be exclusive to Fisher Mall—are expected to open.

“While fashionistas will find a new home in Fisher Mall, the place definitely caters to everyone’s needs and wants,” said Moleen

Envisioned as an interactive place, Fisher Mall defies anything normal about a typical mall. With features such as augmented reality and a high-tech mobile app, it’s going to be a place that surprises people at every turn.

As a lifestyle and entertainment mall, Fisher Mall will have one of the biggest gaming arcades in the country. With 2,400-square meters dedicated to games, it’s like having a huge playground for both kids and individuals who want to feel like kids again.

“Then there’s the cinema” which Ray Del Rosario, President of Mallers Management Corporation said will have that “throwback feel like the ‘20s era” when going to the movies was a big deal. As huge movie buffs, Ray and his brothers really translated  their love for films in making this part of the mall a wonderful experience—even before people enter the cinema to watch.

“It’s a mall that has a more relaxed, more homey environment. We want everybody to feel welcome and have a good time,” said Ray.

Fisher Mall is a family-owned and -run establishment which was named as such to pay homage to the Del Rosario’s forefathers who started the successful fishing business based in Malabon.

“Fishing has always been our family’s main business so moving into retail is a journey that is both fascinating and mysterious to us all. Each member of the family is overseeing a division to make sure we don’t miss out on anything,” said Ray.

It is this expertise in fishing that would allow Fisher Mall’s supermarket to offer the freshest fish in town—straight from the port. In as fast as 20 minutes, they can have newly caught fish in their supermarket each and every single day. You just can’t get any fresher than that.

“The fish will be the highlight of the supermarket. I promise you will be able to taste the difference when you buy direct from source,” said Obby,  President of the Fisherfoods Corporation.

The commitment for only the best is a reflection of the family’s attitude toward business.

Located along Quezon Avenue corner Roosevelt (what was once the Pantranco terminal), the area is virtually safe from flooding. As for the building’s construction, everything is some 20% over what is required—from thicker glass, to more solid pillars – all for the customer’s safety and convenience.

The mall has close to 1,000 parking slots. The complex also seeks to minimize its carbon footprints  to maintain a greener environment for future generations.

Obby said: “Our family is in the business of giving people what they want. We’ve continued this business philosophy in Fisher Mall. We will live up to our slogan “Find all. Be all.”

More about Fisher Mall:

Fisher Mall is a family-owned establishment that is set to redefine shopping within its community in Quezon City. As a lifestyle and fashion mall, it aims to be a venue for style-conscious individuals to get together and exchange creative ideas. Fisher Mall is owned and headed by Bobby del Rosario, along with his wife Moleen who heads Clothers Asia. Bobby’s three sons-  Paul – Vice-Chairman of Mallers Investment Inc.,  Ray – President, Mallers Management Corp, and Obby – President of Fisherfoods Corp., are all involved with the project.

Uratex Receives Consecutive Honors from Orthopaedics Association

The RGC Foam Group, the country’s leading manufacturer of commercial and automotive polyuretahane foam products in the country and Southeast Asia, was again lauded by the Philippine Orthopaedics Association, Inc. (POA), the country’s leading organization of orthopaedic practitioners, for its constant support of the organization’s continuing medical education in the field of musculoskeletal studies.

Peachy Medina (center), Managing Director of Uratex Philippines, Inc. receives a plaque of recognition from the Philippine Orthopaedics Association, Inc. (POA). The award acknowledges the company’s unwavering support of the organization’s continuing medical education in the field of musculoskeletal studies. She is joined by Dr. Adrien Quidlat (left), new President of Philippine Orthopaedics Association, Inc. and Dr. Geoffrey Battad (right), immediate past President of Philippine Orthopaedics Association, Inc. The award was given to Uratex during the POA’s 63rd annual convention held recently at the Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria in Quezon City, in cooperation with the Philippine Hip and Knee Society and Philippine Board of Orthopaedics (PBO).

The award was received by Christiane Marie “Peachy” Medina, Managing Director of Uratex Philippines, Inc. and was handed by Dr. Adrien Quidlat, new President of the POA, and Dr. Geoffrey Battad, POA’s immediate past President, during the POA’s 63rd annual convention held recently at the Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria in Quezon City. The event was held in cooperation with the Philippine Hip and Knee Society and the Philippine Board of Orthopaedics (PBO).

“Similar to the honor given to us last year, we are very proud to be recognized by a prestigious medical organization and be part of its continuous efforts dedicated to research of various musculoskeletal conditions,” shares Medina.

Uratex was the only non-pharmaceutical company acknowledged for its contributions to the orthopaedics field during the event. Since 2009, the company has been helping the POA fulfill its mission to advance the art and science of orthopaedics by promoting excellence in research, training, and service.

Medina explains further:  “Through our products, we are able to contribute in managing various musculoskeletal pain types of patients who have problems with their lower back, muscle and even those with incorrect posture.”

She said that Uratex’s Senso Memory Foam Mattress, for instance, helps people with back problems as it focuses on pressure points, while giving comfort when it conforms to the shape of a person’s body.

The main purpose of the musculoskeletal system is to provide form, support and stability to the body, and this is not achieved when there is an injury that affects the muscles, ligaments, tendons, and nerves. This may include aching or stiffness of the entire body, fatigue, sleep disturbances and twitching of the muscles.

Thus, having customized foam products such as the Senso Memory foam, Cozy Latex, Technogel, and  pillows like Therapoint and Senso Memory, may improve or relieve these symptoms brought by musculoskeletal pain.

Medina likewise assures the POA that it will continue to support the POA in its quest to further enhance the knowledge of local orthopaedic surgeons—whose main objectives is to provide health services for the country at the highest standards.

“We will continue our support of the POA’s endeavors in the musculoskeletal field in the years to come because we know that the results of their hard work will benefit many Filipinos,” discloses Medina.

Exciting Night Shopping Experience Awaits In Tutuban Center Night Market

When the mall closes but the shopping urge is still unsatisfied, troop to the Tutuban Center Night Market. It is the Philippines’ answer to the world-renowned night markets of Hong Kong, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. This unique bargain shopping destination allows you to experience open-air shopping at its best, with the widest array of goods and supplies at the most reasonable prices.

The Tutuban Center Night Market is a clean, organized and secured market area that brings together a collection of stalls that sells personal items, kitchen wares, garden accessories, handicrafts, sports gear and novelty knick-knacks—and just about anything you can think of.

It is the exciting place where, at the close of regular mall hours, street vendors take over the vehicular road network of the main cluster of the Tutuban complex to set up their stores and sell their goodies. From the early evening to midnight, the perimeter area of Tutuban Center metamorphoses into a dynamic market, with pockets of brightly-lit stalls with equally bright-eyed shoppers angling for the most awesome bargains.

Haggling and negotiating over prices is definitely the standard practice, and goods all come at cheaper and more affordable costs. And now that Christmas is around the corner, you can browse more than a thousand imaginative gift ideas. This is the market where “there’s something for everyone” rings true and real.

Gift suggestions are yours for the giving: for your office secret Santa to your special someone; for the sister who is into arts and the niece into crafts; for the brother who is a gadget geek and the nephew who’s a technophile; for the boss who is a cook and his wife’s who’s a foodie; for your Mom who’s a home buff and Dad who’s a garden aficionado.

While Christmas carols are on full blast, enjoy dining al fresco at the Food Street. Freshly cooked seafood and hot-off-the-grill offerings are yours for the partaking to drive away your hunger pangs. Hong Kong-style or homemade noodles will surely chase the cold Christmas chill away while street staples such as hotdogs, kikiam and fish balls are sure to satisfy your cravings.

It is now more exciting and more leisurely to stroll around the Tutuban Center Night Market, but the experience is still the same for shoppers who have loved the nightly bazaar for, such as the great bargains, amazing discounts, joyous atmosphere, and food and fun for the entire family and barkada.

With this kind of shopping experience, going to Tutuban Center Night Market is surely the way to go, where shopping is always the best—any time, any day.
