Comida Ilocandia: Slow-Cooked Flavors From The North

Comida means food, meal and dinner in English translation. Comida basura is junk food. Comida Ilocandia is no junk food. It serves authentic Ilocano style food served quickly in a friendly atmosphere. Everything they serve is made from scratch from Chef Danny dela Cuesta‘s own and unique recipes.

Comida Ilocandia has been locally owned and operated just a few years back. They offer its customers quick and affordable food. They feature fresh food prepared daily using only the finest ingredients which are all very familiar to every Ilocanos in the metro.

After our wonderful body massage from Spaoay, Chef Danny was super generous to let us try his creations in Comida Ilocandia. The servings were huge but cheap. I was so excited waiting for my orders. 🙂

In time with the cold and wet weather, pan de sal with a unique spread was served to us. Unfortunately, I was not able to get the name of the spread, but for most Ilocanos, I’m sure you’ll all gonna love this.

Bagnet

Bagnet was super yummy. It’s freshly cooked and tasty. Really crispy! 🙂 Tinuno was also good. It’s a grilled pork belly. Again, really tasty.

Adobo. This one’s a little off to me. The pork are almost shredded. The texture’s a bit dry for me too.

Longganisa. These I really like. I almost finish the 5 pieces. Haha! 🙂 Though, I was actually expecting those longganisa from Vigan – smaller ones. However, the ones that was served to us is a bit different but surprisingly, it taste really good.

All these as the Bento Meal. And this can be shared to 4-5 people – not to mention the unlimited rice. 🙂

Traditional Ilocano specialty drinks are also available in Comida – the Champola-guava or guava coolers, rice coffee and rice tea brews.

Basi

We were also served Basi. This is one of the traditional drinks of Ilocos which is a fermented sugarcane.

Comida Ilocandia is a place to visit. It brought me back to my Ilocano heritage. I suddenly missed being in Ilocos and with my cousins there. I would love to go back and hopefully bring my friends with me.

Say It, Nessie visited Comida Ilocandia as a guest. All meals were complimentary and because of the generosity of Chef Danny dela Cuesta.  All ratings on the meals are mine and based on my taste and palates.

You had me at Bagnet and Longanisa. I love food from ilocos and I would really try this one. Whenever I get a chance, I really eat a lot especially when it comes to ilocos dishes and being packaged in a bento box, that’s really a feast.
